One hundred thirty TV shows from British Commonwealth territories and Ireland were new to the US in 2015, and selecting my fifteen favorites of the year took some doing.

Viewers on both sides of the pond will be bidding a fond farewell to another period drama next year, as Mr. Selfridge returns to ITV and PBS for its fourth and final series.

One recommission + one stateside premiere date + one cast announcement = a lot of Brit TV goodies to look forward to in the new year and beyond.

The new year will be here before we know it, and with 2016 comes the US premiere of War & Peace, the limited series event that will air on cable channels A&E, History, and Lifetime.

A whole lotta TVing is going on at the BBC and ITV, as both have announced new program commissions. Plus there’s news about a returning show and another whose cast is set.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as holiday specials, dramas, a mockumentary and rockumentary, a music-filled movie, and a proper musical, premiere on US channels and streaming services this month.

Amazon has ordered The Collection, a period fashion drama from Primetime Emmy® nominee Oliver Goldstick, for its first UK series commission.

Filming begins this week on Taboo, a new eight-part period drama featuring rising Hollywood film star Tom Hardy in the lead role.

Jenna Coleman has traded in her status as a Time Lord companion for that of a Queen. And now Rufus Sewell is joining her and the ensemble cast of the new ITV drama Victoria.
