Sir Kenneth Branagh and Joanne Froggatt spoke about their upcoming TV programs during PBS’s final presentations yesterday at the Winter 2016 TCA Press Tour.

During PBS’ first day of presentations at the Winter 2016 TCA (Television Critics Assn) Press Tour, British stars were on hand to chat about their shows. See the pics below.

Happy New Year! It’s the 1st of January, which means Sherlock: The Abominable Bride! And there’s much more British TV screening in the US during the rest of the month, too!

In Part 2 of my British TV year in review, we look at several new titles that premiered in the UK in 2015, ones that were worth every minute in front of the telly.

One hundred thirty TV shows from British Commonwealth territories and Ireland were new to the US in 2015, and selecting my fifteen favorites of the year took some doing.

The body count will rise even higher in the deadliest (fictional) county in England, when Midsomer Murders returns with its eighteenth (count ’em) series.

Hold on to your hats (and crosswords), because Shaun Evans is back as Endeavour Morse in the hit mystery drama, Endeavour, which returns to telly with its third series.

One recommission + one stateside premiere date + one cast announcement = a lot of Brit TV goodies to look forward to in the new year and beyond.

Several Brit TV movies, documentaries, crime dramas and mysteries, and a sci-fi series’ holiday special from last year, make their way to US streaming services this month.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as holiday specials, dramas, a mockumentary and rockumentary, a music-filled movie, and a proper musical, premiere on US channels and streaming services this month.

It’s rare that two seasons of a show will premiere in the same year, yet that is what The Brokenwood Mysteries will do when its second series debuts in the US next week.

I call ’em as I see ’em, and in River I see the best new UK drama of 2015. And as of today, River is streaming on Netflix in the US.
