NATIONAL PREMIERES

Big Timber (Canada)

This new reality series follows a no-nonsense logger and his loyal crew as they battle brutal elements and finicky machines to chop and transport valuable lumber on Vancouver Island. Big Timber, a Netflix Original series, premieres globally on Friday, July 2, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

The Beast Must Die (UK)

In this modern retelling of Nicholas Blake‘s novel of the same name (Book 4 in his “Nigel Strangeways” series), Frances Cairnes (Cush Jumbo, The Good Fight) sets in motion a plan to kill George Rattery (Jared Harris, Chernobyl), the man she believes is responsible for the hit-and-run death of her young son. The series’ early preview is on Monday, July 5, on AMC+, one week ahead of its official premiere on July 12 at 10 PM ET on the AMC linear channel. New episodes debut weekly.

In the Footsteps of Killers (UK)

This true-crime docuseries follows Silent Witness actress Emilia Fox and top criminologist Professor David Wilson as they work to solve Britain’s most heinous cold-case murders. The two base themselves in the vicinity of each crime, re-examine the evidence, and meet with police, witnesses, journalists, experts, and others to walk the murder scene in the footsteps of the killer and crack the unsolved cases. In the Footsteps of Killers, a BritBox Original series, premieres in North America on Tuesday, July 6, exclusively on BritBox.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2021 (UK)

Celebrate the beautiful season with the world’s largest annual flower and garden show! Hosted on the grounds of Hampton Court Palace, the event is filled with plenty of gardening inspiration, stunning displays, expert talks, and breathtaking backdrops. The RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2021 premieres in North America on Wednesday, July 7, exclusively on BritBox. (Video is from 2019)

The Dog House: Season 2 (UK)

This observational documentary follows the goings-on at the Wood Green Animal Shelter in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, where the staff play matchmaker for the abandoned dogs in their care and the singles, couples, and families who come to Wood Green to find their perfect canine companion. The Dog House: UK: Season 2, a Max Original series, premieres in the US in its entirety on Thursday, July 8, exclusively on HBO Max.

Motherland: Season 3 (UK)

This comedy returns with Anna Maxwell Martin (Line of Duty) as Julia, one in a group of working “Alpha Mums” (plus a stay-at-home dad) who navigate the challenges of middle-class parenthood and the politics of school gates while trying to balance their social and professional lives. Costarring Lucy Punch (Vexed), Diane Morgan (Mount Pleasant), Paul Ready (Bodyguard), and Tanya Moodie (The Mallorca Files), and guest-starring Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous), Motherland: Season 3 premieres in the US on Thursday, July 8, exclusively on Sundance Now and the AMC+ streaming bundle.

This comedy-mystery movie is the first in Jason Cook’s (Hebburn) “Draper’s Tours” trilogy. After mystery writer David Van Der Clane (Griff Rhys Jones, Not the Nine O’Clock News) sets up a book tour with coach operator Gemma Draper (Sian Gibson, The League of Gentlemen), his stories start to come to life when his fans get bumped off one by one while visiting the settings of his novels. The police provide no help, so it’s up to coach driver Terry (Johnny Vegas, Still Open All Hours) to catch the killer. Death on the TyneDeath on the Tyne (UK)

In the second of Jason Cook’s trilogy, there’s a serial killer on the overnight ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam. Dial M for Middlesbrough (UK)

The final movie in the trilogy sees Gemma (Sian Gibson) and Terry (Johnny Vegas) seeking refuge at Shady Creek Caravan Park after their coach breaks down on the way in Middlesbrough. Will they and any of the eclectic characters at Shady Creek survive the horrors of the sinister caravan park? Dial M for Middlesbrough premieres in North America on Friday, July 9, exclusively on BritBox.

This Way Up: Season 2 (UK)

In the new season of this comedy-drama, Aine (Aisling Bea, Quiz) is starting to leave her time in rehab behind and live less cautiously. Will she and Richard (Tobias Menzies, The Crown) make a go of it or remain employee and employer? Costarring Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), and Aasif Mandvi (Evil), This Way Up: Season 2, a Hulu Original series, premieres in the US on Friday, July 9, exclusively on Hulu.

Unforgotten: Season 4 (UK)

In this mystery series’ most dramatic season yet, Cassie (Nicola Walker, Annika) and Sunny (Sanjeev Bhaskar, The Indian Doctor) investigate a cold case with alarming links to the police force when a corpse is discovered in a scrap yard. Unforgotten: Season 4 premieres in the US on Sunday, July 11, at 9 PM ET, on PBS (check your local listings) and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel.

Professor T (UK)

In this British version of the Belgian crime drama of the same name, Ben Miller (Death in Paradise) stars as Professor Jasper Tempest, a Cambridge University criminologist and germophobe with OCD and a genius for solving crimes, who serves as a police consultant to help detectives crack their most difficult cases. Professor T premieres in the US on Sunday, July 11, at 10 PM ET, on PBS (check your local listings) and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel.

Love Island UK: Season 7 (UK)

This dating show returns with a new group of singles living in a beautiful villa in the picturesque village of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Majorca, under the watchful gaze of the audience at home, who have the power to decide who stays, who goes, and who wins. Love Island UK: Season 7 premieres in the US on Monday, July 12, exclusively on Hulu.

The North WaterThe North Water (UK)

Based on Ian McGuire‘s critically-acclaimed novel, this 1850s-set drama tells the story of Patrick Sumner (Jack O’Connell, Skins, pictured), a disgraced ex-army surgeon who signs up as the ship’s doctor on a whaling expedition to the Arctic, hoping to escape the horrors of the past. SurrealEstate (Canada)

This new supernatural mystery series follows the elite team of specialists at the Roman Agency as they take on real estate cases that no one else can: working with clients to buy and sell haunted houses. It stars Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp), Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Adam Korson (Seed), and Maurice Dean Wint (Haven). SurrealEstate premieres in the US on Friday, July 16, at 10 PM ET, on Syfy.

Dead Pixels: Season 2 (UK)

In Season 2 of this comedy-fantasy series, gaming fanatics Meg (Alexa Davies, The Murders at White House Farm), Nicky (Will Merrick, Poldark), and Usman (Sargon Yelda, C.B. Strike) are thrilled by the arrival of the Kingdom Scrolls expansion pack, but their excitement is quashed when they discover it’s been commercialized and overrun by a younger generation of players. Dead Pixels: Season 2 premieres in the US on Sunday, July 18, at 9:30 PM ET, on The CW.

The End (AU-UK)

This dark dramedy series sees Kate Brennan (Frances O’Connor, Mr. Selfridge), a doctor in Australia who specializes in palliative care medicine, bring her mother, Edie Henley (Harriet Walter, Law & Order: UK), from England to Australia after the latter’s suicide attempt, and places her in a nearby retirement village — a fate worse than death for Edie. Meanwhile, Kate struggles with her own problems and children as she attempts to create her and Edie’s mother-daughter relationship anew. The End premieres in the US on Sunday, July 18, at 8 PM ET, on Showtime.

Sexy Beasts (UK)

Hoping to say goodbye to superficial dating, real-life singles sport elaborate makeup and prosthetics to put true blind-date chemistry to the test in this new reality dating series. This program, a sister show to the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show that takes place earlier in the month, returns to our screens, bringing the joy of gardening with it. Eden: Untamed Planet (UK)

This new landmark series explores six of the last untouched locations on earth. Presenting life as nature intended, it follows the unique way that wildlife has adapted to these environments and continues to rise to new challenges over the course of a year. The Wine Show: Season 3 (UK)

Burden of Truth: Season 4 (Canada)

The fourth and final season of this legal drama opens with lawyer and new mother Joanna Chang (Kristin Kreuk, Smallville) taking on the case of a landowner whose farm is standing in the way of a controversial mining project that has been proposed for Millwood. Costarring Peter Mooney (Rookie Blue), Burden of Truth: Season 4 premieres in the US on Friday, July 30, at 8 PM ET, on The CW.

Glow Up: Season 3 (UK)

Now presented by Maya Jama (The Circle), this competition series follows aspiring makeup artists as they navigate colorful challenges to win a career-making opportunity in the beauty industry. Glow Up: Season 3, a Netflix Original series, premieres in the US on Friday, July 30, exclusively on Netflix.

The Pursuit of Love (UK)

Based on Nancy Mitford‘s novel of the same name (Book 1 in her “Radlett and Montdore” trilogy), this romance drama follows the friendship between cousins Linda (Lily James, Downton Abbey) and Fanny (Emily Beecham, Into the Badlands), which will be put to the test as Fanny settles for a steady life and Linda decides to follow her heart. Another fan-favorite series that will be available for streaming in the US again is this fantasy-crime drama sequel to Life on Mars. It centers on DI Alex Drake (Keeley Hawes, Honour), who regains consciousness in 1981 London after being shot in 2008. Not only is she transported back in time, she ends up working with the infamous DCI Gene Hunt (Phillip Glenister, Living the Dream) and his crew, including DS Ray Carling (Dean Andrews, Last Tango in Halifax) and DC Chris Skelton (Marshall Lancaster, Coronation Street). Whitechapel (UK)

Rupert-Penry Jones (MI-5) leads the cast of this mystery-crime thriller as DI Joseph Chandler, a fastidious, politically-astute detective with little experience in investigating murder cases. As such, he gets no respect from his colleagues, including DS Ray Miles (Phil Davis, Poldark), but they are forced to work together to catch the murderer that, like Jack the Ripper, has been picking off vulnerable women and leaving them brutally butchered in Whitechapel. God’s Own Country begins streaming Monday, July 26.

Keeping Rosy (UK)

Maxine Peake (Silk) stars in this psycho-thriller as Charlotte, a high-strung, ice-cold business executive who finds her high-end, well-ordered life spiraling into violence, blackmail, and murder after she takes out her anger at being passed over for a promotion on her cleaner. Keeping Rosy begins streaming Monday, July 26.
