Line of Duty, the hit British crime thriller that follows the (fictional) police anti-corruption unit, AC-12, will have a new stateside home for its fifth season premiere in 2019: Acorn TV.
Set two years after the events in Season 4, the new season finds the AC-12 team of DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston, In Plain Sight, The Great Train Robbery), DS Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure, The Secret Agent, Broadchurch), and Supt. Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar, Blood, Ashes to Ashes) focused on a new villain: John Corbett.
Playing Corbett, aka Balaclava Man, is BAFTA nominee Stephen Graham (Little Boy Blue, Boardwalk Empire, This Is England).

In the new six-part story written by series creator Jed Mercurio (Bodyguard), Corbett and Lisa McQueen (Rochenda Sandall, Love, Lies and Records, Broken) are pivotal figures in a deadly organized crime group. Known to have links with corrupt police officers and suspected to be under direct command of the shadowy figure known only as “H,” the two become persons of interest to AC-12 following an explosive chain of events.
The new season sees the return of Maya Sondhi (The Split) as PC Maneet Bindra, Polly Walker (Prisoners Wives) as Gill Biggeloe, Aiysha Hart (A Discovery of Witches) as DS Sam Railston, Tony Pitts (Jamestown) as Det. Ch. Supt. Les Hargreaves, and Andrea Irvine (Red Rock) as Roisin Hastings.
Joining the series’ regular cast are Taj Atwal (Stella) as PC Tatleen Sohota and Richard Pepple (Beasts of No Nation) as PS Kyle Ferringham. Also featuring in Season 5 are Susan Vidler (Shetland), Sian Reese-Williams (Hidden), Ace Bhatti (No Offence), and Elizabeth Rider (Informer).
Currently filming in Belfast, Line of Duty: Season 5 makes its US premiere exclusively on Acorn TV in 2019, coinciding with its BBC One premiere.
Acorn TV currently has the first three seasons of Line of Duty available for streaming. On November 26, the SVOD service adds Season 4, which features 2018 Emmy® Award winner Thandie Newton (Westworld) as the lead guest star.
