British drama River, and actors Mark Rylance and Sharon Horgan, were winners of the prestigious Golden Nymph Awards at the 56th Monte-Carlo Television Festival.
One hundred thirty TV shows from British Commonwealth territories and Ireland were new to the US in 2015, and selecting my fifteen favorites of the year took some doing.
I call ’em as I see ’em, and in River I see the best new UK drama of 2015. And as of today, River is streaming on Netflix in the US.
With November comes the start of holiday programming, but there’s still a fair number of British program premieres this month, including some must-see Brit TV titles.
Swedish film star Stellan Skarsgård rarely works in television, so his saying yes to River means this is no ordinary series. Both he and the show, coming soon to US telly, are brilliant.
