It’s time for another happy dance, because renowned British actor Sean Bean (Sean Bean!!!) is returning to telly!
Yes! Sean Bean will be gracing our screens again when he stars in the TNT spy drama, Legends. He’ll play undercover agent Martin Odum, whose work for the FBI’s Deep Cover Operations division involves transforming himself from one identity to another for each job, so much so that when a mysterious stranger implies he isn’t who he thinks himself to be, Odum starts questioning his own identity.
(Identity aside, one can only presume that Odum won’t die, as Bean’s characters so often do. To wit: Eddard Stark in Game of Thrones, Alec Trevelyan in GoldenEye, and Boromir in Lord of the Rings, amongst others.)
The series is based on the award-winning book, Legends, by spy novelist Robert Littell, and costars Ali Larter (Heroes), Rob Mayes (The Client List), Tina Majorino (Grey’s Anatomy), Steve Harris (The Practice), Amber Valletta (Revenge), and Lux Haney Jardine (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter).
Said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM):
“Legends has everything you want in a good spy drama: intriguing characters, multi-layered plots, a terrific cast and lots of action and suspense. At the center of it all is Sean Bean, giving an outstanding performance in an extremely complex and difficult role.”
Legends is slated to premiere on TNT in 2014.
