With just three weeks to go until the premiere of Downton Abbey: Season 5, many PBS member stations are busy getting things ready for their sneak peek events. Are you going?

Some stations have already had their events while others are hosting theirs this weekend, but there are plenty more whose advanced screenings of the first episode of Downton Abbey: Season 5 are still coming up.

If you would like to attend the Downton sneak peek hosted by the PBS station that serves your viewing area (provided they can accommodate a few more fans), getting an invite is as simple as becoming a member of that station.

It isn’t just certain cardholders for whom “membership has its privileges.” Members of local PBS stations get plenty, such as invitations to screenings, live performances, and program tapings. The biggest bang for your membership buck, though, is the programming, which includes British TV shows from PBS (like Downton), plus titles that your local station gets on its own with contributions from viewers like you.

For viewers in the Washington, DC area who would like to attend the WETA Downton Abbey screening this Thursday, 18 December 2014, there is still space available for the 3 PM event. In addition to music, refreshments, and giveaways, a few special surprises are in store, too!

Those who aren’t already WETA members can visit the station’s membership sign-up page here to first make a donation, and then request up to two tickets.

WETA’s Downton sneak peek is being held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Woodley Park, and tickets into the screening room will be distributed at the check-in table starting at 2:30 PM, so get there early!

See you there!

And meet you at PBS on Sunday, 4 January 2015, at 9 PM ET for the premiere of Downton Abbey: Season 5!
