On both sides of the pond, fans of Grantchester can’t get enough of this hit Brit mystery. So ITV and PBS are bringing us more!
ITV has confirmed that James Norton will be back as the crime-fighting clergyman, Sidney Chambers, along with Robson Green as Detective Inspector Geordie Keating, in a third series of Grantchester.
Series 2 of Grantchester has won its time slot every week that it has been on air in the UK, and is currently delivering a consolidated 6.6 million viewers and 26% share.
The Series 2 finale aired last night on ITV, and PBS is premiering the third of the season’s six episodes this Sunday. (More about the current season here.)
A Kudos and MASTERPIECE co-production for ITV, Grantchester is based on “The Grantchester Mysteries” by James Runcie and adapted by writer Daisy Coulam.
Diederick Santer has executive produced and Emma Kingsman-Lloyd has produced both series of Grantchester. They will return for the third series, with Emma as Series Producer. Daisy Coulam will also be executive producer on Series 3.
ITV will announce further details at a later date, so stay tuned.
