Peacock announced today the US premiere date for the first season of The Celebrity Traitors UK, the British celeb version of the hit reality series that has taken the world by storm.

I am a “Traitors” virgin. With the exception of programs like The Great British Baking Show, I don’t really watch competition series, especially ones where participants are inclined to be, or by necessity are compelled to be, deceptive, manipulative, aggressive, or otherwise unsavory in order to win. But now that The Celebrity Traitors UK is coming to the US, I can’t wait to watch it!
Why the sudden change of heart (or viewing habits)? Because of the celebs, of course. The Celebrity Traitors UK features several of my favorites, all in one place, a bit like British panel shows only with more players. Viewers across the pond tuned in to the final episode by the shedload, to the tune of an average of 11.1 million people, making it the largest live audience of the year for a single UK TV show.
Filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands (the same location for both the British and American versions of The Traitors) and hosted by the brilliant Claudia Winkleman (I adore her), the first season’s celebrity contestants include:
- Alan Carr (comedian)
- Cat Burns (singer/songwriter)
- Celia Imrie (actor)
- Charlotte Church (singer and activist)
- Clare Balding (broadcaster and author)
- David Olusoga (historian and filmmaker)
- Joe Marler (former England Rugby player and podcaster)
- Joe Wilkinson (comedian)
- Jonathan Ross (presenter)
- Kate Garraway (broadcaster)
- Lucy Beaumont (comedian)
- Mark Bonnar (actor)
- Nick Mohammed (actor and comedian)
- Niko Omilana (content creator)
- Paloma Faith (singer/songwriter and actor)
- Ruth Codd (actor)
- Stephen Fry (actor, writer, presenter)
- Tameka Empson (actor and comedian)
- Tom Daley (Olympian, author, broadcaster, and entrepreneur)
The Celebrity Traitors UK: Season 1 premieres in the US as a nine-episode binge on Thursday, November 20, exclusively on Peacock.
Peacock is the US home to all English-language series in “The Traitors” franchise, including the Emmy®-nominated The Traitors (American version hosted by Alan Cumming), the BAFTA-winning The Traitors UK (hosted by Claudia Winkleman), The Traitors Australia (hosted by Rodger Corser), and The Traitors NZ (hosted by Paul Henry).
A production of Studio Lambert Scotland for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, The Celebrity Traitors is executive produced by Mike Cotton, Sarah Fay, Lewis Thurlow, and Katy Fox, alongside production executives Lynette Woods-Reynolds and Gemma Scholes. The Traitors is based on the Dutch series De Verraders, created and developed by IDTV in cooperation with RTL Creative Unit, which launched on RTL 4 in the Netherlands in 2021. Since then, local versions of the smash-hit reality series have been commissioned in more than thirty territories across six continents.
