Fans of The Chelsea Detective, rejoice! This fabulous series is returning to our screens next month with four new feature-length episodes.

All of the regular cast are back in Season 4, including series leads Adrian Scarborough (Killing Eve, The King’s Speech, 1917) as DI Max Arnold and Vanessa Emme (Dublin Murders, Three Families) as DS Layla Walsh, Max’s work partner, along with Sophie Stone (Shetland, Midsomer Murders) as Chief Forensics Officer Ashley Wilton, Lucy Phelps (Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, Grace) as research and tech queen DC Jess Lombard, and Peter Bankolé (DI Ray, Peaky Blinders) as officer DC Connor Pollock. Also reprising their roles are Frances Barber (Whitstable Pearl) as Max’s Aunt Olivia and Alexandra Gilbreath (Becoming Elizabeth) as Max’s potential love interest, Roz.

In the new season, Max, Layla, and the team delve once again into the darker side of Chelsea that lurks beneath the glossy façade of London’s wealthiest and most affluent borough. The detectives investigate five murders, including: a fashion mogul sinking fast in the trappings of her wealth; an aristocratic dynasty brutally guarding their bloodline; a beauty salon owner concealing lethal truths; and a cryptic double-murder that spirals outward to Cambridge, drawing the team into the cut-throat world of architecture.

The Chelsea Detective: Season 4, an Acorn TV Original, premieres in the US, Canada, and Australia on Monday, August 3, exclusively on Acorn TV. New episodes will drop weekly through August 24.

A production of Acorn Media Enterprises, Germany’s ZDF, and the BBC Studios-invested Expectation, the series is created by Peter Fincham (The Lost Prince, Smack the Pony, I’m Alan Partridge). It is executive produced by Fincham and Ella Kelly (Death in Paradise, Midsomer Murders) for Expectation, Bea Tammer and Lesley Pemberton for Acorn Media Enterprises, Frank Baloch and Maik Platzen for ZDF, and Richard Acton for BBC Studios. Season 4 was written by Glen Laker, Peter Fincham, and Liz Lake, and directed by Brian Kelly, Richard Signy, and Audrey Cooke.
