Acorn TV announced today the date for the multi-territory premiere of Season 4 of its popular whodunit series, The Madame Blanc Mysteries.
Created by and starring Sally Lindsay (Still Open All Hours, Cold Call, Scott & Bailey, Coronation Street), the brand new season of The Madame Blanc Mysteries returns us to the quaint, sunshine- and laughter-filled village of Sainte Victoire in the south of France. Here, antiques dealer and amateur sleuth Jean White (Sally Lindsay) is navigating a fledgling romance with her sidekick, taxi driver Dom Hayes (Steve Edge, Starlings, Murder They Hope, Maxine), while the quirky locals get up to their usual dramas.
They also occasionally get caught up the murders and mysteries that Jean investigates, which, in Season 4, include the killing of a puppeteer, the disappearance of a CEO, and the attack on a night watchman, amongst other crimes and unusual events.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries: Season 4, an Acorn TV Original Series, premieres with two episodes in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on Monday, July 7, exclusively on Acorn TV. New episodes will drop weekly.
Also reprising their roles for the seven-episode season are series co-writer Sue Vincent (Mount Pleasant, Shameless) as mechanic Gloria Beaushaw; Robin Askwith (Strike, Benidorm) and Sue Holderness (Only Fools and Horses, Still Open All Hours) as eccentric married couple Jeremy and Judith Lloyd James; Alex Gaumond (Derry Girls, My Dinner With Hervé) as Chief of Police André Caron; Tony Robinson (Blackadder, Time Team) as Dom’s Uncle Patrick, a petty thief-turned-pub landlord; and Paul Chuckle (Elliott, Benidorm) as Trevor, Gloria’s dad.
The series is directed by Dermot Boyd (Mount Pleasant), produced by Jake Rollins, and executive produced by Mike Benson and Andy Morgan for Clapperboard and Sally Lindsay and Caroline Roberts-Cherry for Saffron Cherry.
