Based on George R.R. Martin’s New York Times best-selling novel Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.

Following on from the events in Season 1, the new season finds Westeros on the brink of a bloody civil war. With the realm fracturing, the Green Council fights for King Aegon and the Black Council fights for Queen Rhaenyra, as each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne.

Thus, the Green and Black trailers reflect these two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story, and you, dear viewers, must choose which side of House Targaryen gets your support.

House of the Dragon: Season 2 premieres in the US on Sunday, June 16, at 9pm ET/PT, on HBO, with streaming available on Max.

Cast members returning for Season 2 include Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans, as well as Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.

Joining the Season 2 cast are Abubakar Salim (Raised by Wolves) as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin (Perry Mason) as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox (Slow Horses) as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale (Penny Dreadful) as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty (Normal People) as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna (Coronation Street) as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew (Warrior) as Hugh, Tom Bennett (After Life) as Ulf, Tom Taylor (The Bay) as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan (Before We Die) as Ser Rickard Thorne.

The second season is co-created and executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, who serves as showrunner, and executive produced by Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, and Vince Gerardis.
