HBO Max has set the premiere date for The Tourist, a mystery thriller miniseries starring Jamie Dornan, and dropped the official US trailer.
Max Original series The Tourist, a co-production with British broadcaster BBC and Australian streamer Stan, premieres in the US in its entirety on Thursday, March 3, exclusively on HBO Max.
BAFTA and Golden Globe® nominee Jamie Dornan (The Fall, Belfast) stars as “The Man,” a Briton who finds himself in the glowing red heart of the Australian outback being pursued by a vast tank truck trying to drive him off the road. An epic cat and mouse chase unfolds, and The Man later wakes in the hospital, hurt, but somehow alive — and with no idea about who he is. With merciless figures from his past pursuing him, The Man’s search for answers propels him through the vast and unforgiving outback.
Costars in the six-part, hour-long series include Danielle Macdonald (Unbelievable), Shalom Brune-Franklin (Line of Duty), Damon Herriman (Mindhunter), Alex Dimitriades (The End), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (Trapped), and Kamil Ellis (SeaChange).
The Tourist is a Two Brothers Pictures production for the BBC, in association with Highview Productions, All3Media International, the South Australian Film Corporation, HBO Max, Stan, and ZDF.
The drama was written by BAFTA-nominated and Emmy®- and Golden Globe®-winning producers and screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams (Baptiste, The Missing, Liar), who, alongside Christopher Aird (Clique), serve as executive producers for Two Brothers Pictures, with Tommy Bulfin (Peaky Blinders) executive producing for the BBC. Lisa Scott (The Hunting) is the producer, and Chris Sweeney (Back to Life) is an executive producer and the director.
