A brand new mystery series is headed to this side of the pond. It’s The Madame Blanc Mysteries starring Sally Lindsay.
Cozy mystery series The Madame Blanc Mysteries stars Sally Lindsay (Mount Pleasant, Cold Call) as Jean White, a renowned antiques dealer who runs a successful business with her husband, Rory. But he dies during one of his regular buying trips to France, leaving Jean devastated.
It gets worse. When meeting with their solicitor, Jean discovers that she must now page off the huge debts that Rory had racked up — only their money has disappeared, their shop has been re-mortgaged to the hilt, and their assets have been pawned off.
All but one: their cottage in the town of Sainte Victoire. But when Jean arrives in this French antiques hub to sell the place, she discovers that Rory had been having an affair, and that a valuable ring he was supposed to bring back for her is missing. Suspecting foul play, Jean launches her own investigation into the death of her husband and the disappearance of the ring.
She also meets a host of colorful characters in Sainte Victoire, and soon discovers the town is hiding a few secrets of its own. And with her expertise and sleuthing skills, Jean quickly finds herself investigating numerous other mysteries and murders.
Costars in the six-episode series include Steve Edge (Starlings), Sue Vincent (Mount Pleasant), Sue Holderness (Only Fools and Horses), and Robin Askwith (Confessions), amongst others.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries, an Acorn TV Original series, premieres in the US with two episodes on Monday, November 15, exclusively on Acorn TV. New episodes will debut weekly through December 13.
