PBS Distribution has announced that several seasons of British TV series Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip will stream on the PBS Living channel.
In Antiques Road Trip, the popular, long-running (23 seasons!), and BAFTA Awards, Scotland-nominated BBC program, two experts spend five days touring Great Britain and its antiques shops, vying to see who can uncover the most valuable finds. Its spinoff, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, sees two celebrities pair up and hit the road in classic cars in search of local treasures, competing to see who can make the most at auction.
Both will be available on the PBS Living channel for the first time this October.
Antiques Road Trip
Hit the road in a classic car for a tour through Great Britain, as experts pair up to search local stores for antiques and collectibles of all kinds, competing to see whose finds will make the biggest small fortune at auction. Their off-the-beaten path adventures take them to locales where they can also lose themselves in items from the past while learning the little-known stories behind some of the greatest events in British history. Intriguing finds include rare shoe buckles, Cantonese jardinières, an antique pond yacht, a Scottish sporran, a rare stool that may have been a seat for a royal derriere, and much more.
PBS Living launches Antiques Road Trip on Friday, October 1, with additional episodes being added every Friday through October 29, for a total of 110 episodes.
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip
Each episode follows two celebrities as they take to the road in a gorgeous classic car on a tour through a different part of Great Britain. With antiques experts by their sides, they search local stores for hidden treasures, competing to see who will make the most when they bring their items to auction. As with Antiques Road Trip, the adventures here take the celebrities off the beaten path, where they discover both intriguing items and stories related to events in British history. The celebrities include Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey), the late Diana Rigg (All Creatures Great and Small), Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous), and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), amongst many others.
