The Great Pottery Throw Down returns to the US with eight new episodes, one new host, and twelve new contestants who put their pottery skills to the test in their quest to be named Britain’s best home potter.

Hosted by Siobhan McSweeney (Derry Girls), Season 4 of this reality-competition program sees a dozen of Britain’s best home potters making ceramics from start to finish — from throwing to firing to glazing — in a series of challenges designed to test their know-how and creativity. These include making a cheese set, naked Raku vases and terracotta cookware, as well as participating in a blindfolded throw down and mini at-the-wheel challenges against the clock.

Master potter Keith Brymer Jones returns as a judge, one of the most passionate you’re likely to see (shed tears) on any competition series. He is joined in the judging by ceramics expert Rich Miller, who was a behind-the-scenes technician during the first three seasons.

Produced by Love Productions (The Great British Bake Off), Max Original series The Great Pottery Throw Down: Season 4 premieres in the US in its entirety on Thursday, April 1, exclusively on HBO Max, where the first three seasons are currently available for streaming.
