Fans of Keeping Faith, rejoice. The BBC recently commissioned a second season of the hit Welsh mystery-thriller, which Acorn TV will screen in the US.
Keeping Faith was a runaway hit in the UK, where it garnered 20-year-high ratings for its debut on BBC Wales and broke records for BBC iPlayer with nearly 20 million view requests — the highest ever number recorded for any non-network show.
The series also won three 2018 BAFTA Cymru Awards, including Best Actress for Eve Myles, Best Original Music for Amy Wadge and Laurence Love Greed, and Best Writer for series creator and scriptwriter Matthew Hall, who is penning Series Two with series director and producer Pip Broughton.
Starring the fabulous Eve Myles (Victoria, Broadchurch, Frankie, Torchwood) as wife, mum, and lawyer Faith Howells, the first season of the mystery-thriller follows Faith as her life of wedded bliss becomes a living nightmare. Shattering her hitherto happy life are the disappearance of her husband, Evan; her discovery of Evan’s double life; and a detective with an axe to grind building a murder case against Faith.
Faith is up against it on all sides and finds out soon enough that she and her family are in danger. To protect them, herself, and her sanity, she begins a frantic and lonely search for the truth about her husband.
The second season, which has already started production, picks up where Series One leaves off and joins Faith as she attempts to pick up the pieces of her life.
Acorn TV will feature Keeping Faith: Series Two as an Acorn TV Original in the US and Canada. The show’s premiere will coincide with its UK debut on BBC One in 2019.
Stay tuned for updates.
