Hit Brit mystery Endeavour will soon be gracing telly screens again in the UK, and ITV has released the first trailer for the upcoming second series. Take a look!
There’s no mystery like a Brit mystery, and one of the most successful ones of the past couple of years (and one of our favorite shows of 2013) is Endeavour — the prequel to the long-running Inspector Morse series — which returns to ITV with a second series in a few weeks. (Viewers in the UK have all the luck.)
Here’s a taste of what’s coming up:
Starring Shaun Evans (The Take, The Last Weekend) as young detective Endeavour Morse, and Roger Allam (The Thick of It, Parade’s End) as Morse’s boss, Detective Inspector Fred Thursday, the new series of Endeavour consists of four feature-length episodes — “Trove,” “Nocturne,” “Sway,” and “Neverland” — written by acclaimed screenwriter and Morse contributor, Russell Lewis.
Said Lewis of the second series: “1966 brings Endeavour a fresh quartet of baffling mysteries set to test his brain and body to breaking point. Though offset by the possibility of love unlooked for, against a backdrop of growing change in Britain and the wider world, Endeavour must face a challenge that threatens to take from him all he holds dear… Family. Friends. Colleagues. The old order changeth… but not without a fight. To the death.”
Yowzah!
Not known (yet) is whether Endeavour will return to the PBS Masterpiece: Mystery! lineup in the US this summer, so cross your fingers and stay tuned.
