Acorn TV announced today the premiere date for Season 3 of Signora Volpe, the Italy-set mystery-crime drama series starring Emilia Fox. Check out the trailer.

It feels like it’s been much longer than the two years since the second season of Signora Volpe was released, but what is time, anyway? (That is for an altogether different piece that is not germane to British television.) So, moving on.
Actually, before we get to the details about Season 3, I need to warn you that there is a major spoiler coming if you have not watched Season 2.
Allora…
The third season of Signora Volpe consists of three 90-minute episodes that star Emilia Fox (Silent Witness, Delicious, The Tunnel) as Sylvia Fox, a former British spy who packs it all in and leaves the high-stakes world of espionage for a quieter life in the Italian countryside. Or so she thought…
(Spoiler ahead)
Season 3 finds Sylvia now mentally and physically recovered from her abduction. While lingering questions about her ordeal remain, she is settling back into the rhythm of her new life in Italy, and her relationship with Carabinieri captain Giovanni Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera, Ford v Ferrari, American Crime Story) continues to deepen.
However, Sylvia is soon drawn back into danger through a series of complex investigations, including the murder of a local winery owner and the mysterious death of a young man found in the bed of a prominent power couple. As each mystery hits closer to home and forces Sylvia to confront uncomfortable truths, a devastating loss and the return of someone from her past come back to haunt her.
Signora Volpe: Season 3, an Acorn TV Original, premieres in the US on Monday, October 5, exclusively on Acorn TV.
Also back for the new season are Tara Fitzgerald (Belgravia, Game of Thrones, Surface) as Sylvia’s sister, Isabel Vitale, Elena Di Cioccio (Kostas) as Brigadiere Roberta Barzini, Matteo Carlomagno (All the Money in the World) as Matteo Vitale, Marianne Leoni (The Price of Family) as Raffaella Tasso, and Imma Piro (The Bastards of Pizzofalcone) as Antonella Vitale. Jamie Bamber (Beyond Paradise, Battlestar Galactica) returns as Adam Haines in a recurring role, alongside Buffy Davis (Anna Karenina), who returns as Miriam Cavendish.
Signora Volpe is created and written by Rachel Cuperman and Sally Griffiths (Midsomer Murders) who are also executive producers alongside Emilia Fox; Marc Samuelson, Josie Law, and Robert Cheek executive produce for Route 24; Catherine Mackin and Bea Tammer for Acorn Media Enterprises; Simon Cox for Banijay Rights; and Cristina Giubbetti (Domina, Mafia Mamma, Rosaline) for Cattleya, who are providing Italian Production Services. Matthew Bird (Boat Story, The Turkish Detective, Musketeers) produces. Emmy® nominee David Evans (Domina, Preacher, Downton Abbey) directs the full season.
