MGM+ has announced the US premiere date for Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, a new mystery thriller series. Check out the trailer.

Ooh, boy, am I looking forward to this! It’s like a mashup of And Then There Were None and Yellowjackets, but set in a Mexican jungle instead of an isolated island off the coast of Devon, England, and the Canadian wilderness, respectively. I’m sure there’s more to it than this, given that it’s an original series created by BAFTA nominee and best-selling author Anthony Horowitz (Magpie Murders, Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Foyle’s War).
Anyhoo, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is a taut six-episode thriller series with a jaw-dropping reveal at the end.
The story, which unfolds in flashback, centers on the nine passengers aboard a light aircraft traveling from Guatemala to the US, which crashes in the Mexican jungle. Miraculously, all of them survive. However, they must fight against the heat, a shortage of supplies, and the many dangers of the jungle — as well as each other — if they are going to stay alive. Except… they begin to die in strange and violent ways, one after another. Very soon, they begin to realize that, for some inexplicable reason, somebody wants them dead.
But here’s the thing: The police investigation reveals there were ten passports. Ten passengers. So what happened to the tenth person?
Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue premieres in the US on Sunday, March 2, at 9am ET, exclusively on MGM+.(You can add it to your watchlist now.) (Check your local listings for timing if you’re on the West Coast.) New episodes will be released weekly through April 6.
The star-studded international ensemble cast includes Emmy® Award winner Eric McCormack (Will & Grace), David Ajala (Star Trek: Discovery), Lydia Wilson (Flack), Peter Gadiot (Queen of the South), BAFTA winner Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist), Adam Long (Masters of the Air), and Jan Le (Grace).
A production of Eleventh Hour Films, a Sony Pictures Television (SPT) backed company, the series is written, created, and executive produced by Anthony Horowitz CBE, directed by Brian O’Malley (Alex Rider) and Viviane Andereggen (Kleo), and produced by Richard Burrell (All Creatures Great and Small). Jill Green and Eve Gutierrez are the executive producers for Eleventh Hour Films. SPT will distribute the series worldwide.
