Gangs of London, the action-crime drama series acclaimed by critics and viewers alike, makes its linear TV debut on AMC next month.
Created by award-winning filmmaker Gareth Evans (The Raid) and Matt Flannery, Gangs of London tells the story of a city being torn apart by the turbulent power struggles of the international gangs that control it and the sudden power vacuum that’s created when the head of London’s most powerful crime family is assassinated.
The edge-of-your-seat, action-packed drama features an ensemble cast that includes Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders, Pure), Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Humans, Next of Kin), Colm Meaney (Star Trek, Hell on Wheels), Lucian Msamati (His Dark Materials, Black Earth Rising), Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones, The White Princess), Paapa Essiedu (Press, I May Destroy You), and Pippa Bennett-Warner (MotherFatherSon, Harlots).
For 20 years, Finn Wallace (Meaney) was the most powerful criminal in London. But now he’s dead — and nobody knows who ordered the hit. With rivals everywhere, it’s up to the impulsive Sean Wallace (Cole), with the help of Ed Dumani (Msamati), head of the Dumani family, to take his father’s place.
If the situation wasn’t dangerous enough already, Sean’s assumption of power causes ripples in the world of international crime. The one man who might be able to help Sean and be his ally is Elliot Finch (Dìrísù), a once-lowlife chancer and loser in life with a mysterious interest in the Wallace family. Now Elliot finds himself transported to the inner workings of the largest criminal organization in London.
But things don’t end with the Wallaces. There are shadowy higher powers at play…
A production of Pulse Films in association with Sister for Sky Studios, Gangs of London is executive produced by Thomas Benski for Pulse Films, Lucas Ochoa and Jane Featherstone for Sister, and Gabriel Silver for Sky Studios.
The series has been renewed for a second season, with AMC on board as co-producer.
Gangs of London: Season 1 premieres on US linear TV with its first episode (of ten) on Sunday, April 4, at 10 PM ET, on AMC. New episodes will debut weekly.
