Apple TV has set the global premiere date for Season 6 of the critically-acclaimed, award-winning, viewer-favorite espionage drama series, Slow Horses. (Woo hoo!)
With Season 4 of Ted Lasso arriving in August and Season 6 of Slow Horses following it in September, I will definitely be re-subscribing to Apple TV in a couple of months!
The inimitable Sir Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) will be back on our screens as the crass (but still kind of charming in his own gross way) Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies who, due to their career-ending mistakes, end up in Slough House.
The ensemble cast of the darkly humorous spy series includes Kristin Scott Thomas (The English Patient, Four Weddings and a Funeral), Jack Lowden (Benediction, The Gold), Saskia Reeves (Belgravia, Roadkill), Christopher Chung (Waterloo Road, Doctor Who), Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Peaky Blinders, Detectorists), Rosalind Eleazar (Missing You, Harlots), Joanna Scanlan (Riot Women, No Offence), Samuel West (All Creatures Great & Small), Ruth Bradley (Ted Lasso), Tom Brooke (Preacher), Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes), and Hugo Weaving (“The Matrix” films), alongside new addition Lenny Rush (Am I Being Unreasonable).
Usually, the band of Slough House misfit operatives, aka the Slow Horses, find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world. However, in Season 6, they go on the run as Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas), now Director General of MI5, embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.
Slow Horses: Season 6, an Apple TV Original, premieres globally on Wednesday, September 16, exclusively on Apple TV. New episodes will drop weekly through October 21.
The new season is adapted from Joe Country and Slough House, the sixth and seventh novels in Mick Herron’s CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning “Slough House” book series.
The TV series is produced for Apple TV by See-Saw Films, with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski, and Gary Oldman serving as executive producers. Season 6 is adapted for television by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe, with Randall returning to direct.
