In the first season of Extraordinary, 25-year-old Jen (Máiréad Tyers, Belfast) is the only person over the age of 18 who hasn’t developed a superpower. Feeling like she’s being left behind, and adrift in a big, confusing world of superpowered adults, Jen begins her journey to find her maybe-superpower armed with nothing but a bit of hope and a lot of desperation.

Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off: following Jen on her journey as she enrolls as a client at the power clinic. Jen soon discovers that the process of finding her power isn’t as easy as she hoped, and things in the rest of her life aren’t smooth sailing, either. Ex-cat, now-boyfriend Jizzlord (Luke Rollason, Industry) has had an unexpected revelation about his past, while Kash (Bilal Hasna, Screw) and Carrie (Sofia Oxenham, Poldark) are attempting to be totally mature and dignified about their break-up, which isn’t easy when they’re still living under the same roof. It seems that Jen and the gang, with or without superpowers, are dealing with new levels of adulting and chaos that none of them are prepared for.

Extraordinary: Season 2 premieres in the US on Wednesday, March 6, exclusively on Hulu, where Season 1 is currently available for streaming.

Returning cast members include Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls) and Robbie Gee (Motherland) as Mary and Ian, Jen’s mum and stepdad. Joining the cast in Season 2 are Julian Barrett (Flowers) as George, Jen’s power coach at the Discovery Clinic; Rosa Robson (The Outlaws) as Nora, an unexpected person from Jizzlord’s past; Kwaku Mills (The Other One) as Clark, Carrie’s new work colleague; and Derek Jacobi (Vicious), who voices a special cameo role.

Written by series creator Emma Moran (Have I Got News for You), and directed by Toby MacDonald (Ragdoll) and Jennifer Sheridan (Rules of the Game), Extraordinary is executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris for Sid Gentle Films. Charles Dawson, Johanna Devereaux, and Emma Moran also serve as executive producers. Charlie Palmer is Series Producer, with Abíólá Rufai-Awójídé as Producer.
