The second feature from Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman) is the dark dramedy thriller Saltburn, a beautifully wicked tale of privilege and desire starring Oscar® nominee Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin, Chernobyl) and Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, Priscilla).

Set in England in the mid-2000s (with obvious shades of Brideshead Revisited and The Talented Mr. Ripley), Saltburn follows Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan), a scholarship student at Oxford University who struggles to fit in — and then gets drawn into the world of the popular, charming, and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who, after hearing Oliver’s terrible news, invites the chap to spend the summer at Saltburn, the Catton family’s sprawling estate.

At Saltburn, Oliver meets and ingratiates himself to Felix’s parents, Sir James (Richard E. Grant, Can You Ever Forgive Me) and Lady Elspeth (Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl), and his sister Venetia (Alison Oliver, Conversations with Friends). Oliver also meets Venetia’s friend, “Poor dear Pamela” (Carey Mulligan, Promising Young Woman), and encounters again Felix’s American cousin, Farleigh (Archie Madekwe, Gran Turismo), also an Oxfordian and also staying at Saltburn for the summer, who remains disdainful of Oliver.

As the summer progresses, Oliver grows increasingly obsessed with Felix while, at the same time, unexpected events begin happening at Saltburn…

Saltburn, an Amazon Original, has its global streaming premiere on Friday, December 22, exclusively on Prime Video. (You can add it to your watchlist now.)

Written, directed, and produced by Emerald Fennell, the film also features Paul Rhys (Napoleon), Ewan Mitchell (The Last Kingdom), Lolly Adefope (Ghosts), Sadie Soverall (Fate: The Winx Saga), Millie Kent (The Split), and Reece Shearsmith (Inside No. 9).
