True Royalty TV announced today its curation of a collection of exclusive limited series to commemorate the 75th Birthday of King Charles III.
True Royalty TV, the subscription video-on-demand service for fans of all things Royal, is celebrating the 75th birthday of King Charles III (which happens on November 14) and spotlighting the highly-anticipated premiere of the final season of the Netflix drama The Crown with a curated collection of exclusive limited series and special editions of its original talk show The Royal Beat.
Available now on True Royalty TV is the US exclusive two-part documentary series King Charles III – A Road to the Throne. Ever since his mother’s coronation in 1952, the then-Prince Charles was first in line to the throne. He carried out his royal duties for over 70 years as his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, surpassed the longest reign of any other monarch in history. This documentary examines King Charles’s reign, how it has and will differ from his mother’s, and what the future of the Windsor family will look like.
Also premiering in the US and available now on True Royalty TV is the five-part series The Real Crown: Inside the House of Windsor. An excellent companion series to the fictionalized drama The Crown, this docuseries takes a look at the highs and lows of the British Royal family over the past seven decades. Starting with the ’70s and against the backdrop of a fuel crisis, strikes, and inflation in Britain, we see Charles installed as Prince of Wales and beginning his journey to becoming king. Subsequent episodes look at pivotal moments in Royal history, including the kidnapping attempt on Princess Anne, the assassination of Lord Mountbatten orchestrated by the IRA, and the wedding of Charles and Diana, as well as the effect of Diana’s global fame on the Queen and the Royal family at large, how Diana’s death led the public’s opinion of the Royals to plummet, and the impact of the young Royals on the image of the Firm around the world.
Premiering tomorrow, Friday, November 10, is an all-new episode of True Royalty TV’s original talk show The Royal Beat, which will assemble Royal experts and historians to discuss what will be depicted in Part 1 of the final season The Crown. Another new episode on November 24 will dissect the first four episodes, separating fact from fiction, and anticipate what will come in Part 2, whose six episodes Netflix will drop on December 14.
In addition, True Royalty TV has a number of documentaries that sync with the storylines of the sixth and final season of The Crown. For example, the drama series goes deep into Diana-mania, her love affair with Dodi Fayed, and her final days, so fact-checking fans can compare and contrast fact against fiction by checking out the documentaries Diana – Her Last Summer and Diana & Dodi: The Princess and the Playboy. The new season also looks at the budding relationship of William and Catherine, who are the subjects of the documentaries William and Kate: Becoming the Prince and Princess of Wales and Catherine: Our Queen in Waiting. Another storyline in the final season of The Crown is the marriage of Camilla and Charles, which is examined in depth in the popular documentaries Charles and Camilla and Charles and the Women Who Could Have Been Queen.
