The Best English-Language Drama Series winner at the 2022 C21 International Drama Awards, the darkly humorous espionage drama Slow Horses is returning for its third season, with Academy Award® winner Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) once again leading the cast as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but misanthropic leader of a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping-ground department of MI5 known unaffectionately as Slough House.

In the new season, adapted from Real Tigers, the third title in Mick Herron’s CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning “Slough House” spy novel series, a romantic liaison in Istanbul threatens to expose a buried MI5 secret in London. When Jackson Lamb and his team of misfits are dragged into the fight, they find themselves caught in a conspiracy that threatens the future not just of Slough House but of MI5 itself.

Season 3 of Slow Horses premieres globally with the first two episodes on Friday, December 1, exclusively on Apple TV+, with new episodes dropping weekly on Fridays through December 29.

The ensemble cast includes Academy Award® nominee Kristin Scott Thomas (The English Patient, Four Weddings and a Funeral), BAFTA Scotland Award winner Jack Lowden (The Gold, Small Axe), Saskia Reeves (Roadkill, Belgravia), Rosalind Eleazar (Deep Water, Harlots), Christopher Chung (Waterloo Road, Neighbours), Freddie Fox (The Great, The Murders at White House Farm), Chris Reilly (Call the Midwife, The Last Post), Samuel West (All Creatures Great and Small, Howards End), Oscar® nominee Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda, Britannia), Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Peaky Blinders, Detectorists), Kadiff Kirwan (This Is Going to Hurt, This Way Up), and Academy Award® nominee Jonathan Pryce (The Crown, Game of Thrones).

Joining the Season 3 cast are BAFTA nominee Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù (Gangs of London, Humans), who plays Sean Donovan, the former head of security at the British embassy in Istanbul, and Katherine Waterston (Perry Mason, The Third Day) as Alison Dunn, an MI5 agent who uncovers a dark secret at the heart of the agency.

The BAFTA-nominated Slow Horses is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films and adapted for television by Will Smith (Veep). Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Will Smith, Jane Robertson, and Graham Yost serve as executive producers on the series. Season 3 is directed by Saul Metzstein (Ripper Street).

Seasons 1 and 2 of Slow Horses are currently streaming globally on Apple TV+. In addition to the upcoming third season, Apple TV+ has already announced a fourth season, set to be adapted from Mick Herron’s fourth “Slough House” novel, Spook Street.
