Today AMC+ dropped the trailer and set the premiere date for its latest Original series, the serial killer thriller Ragdoll.
Based on Daniel Cole’s novel of the same name, Ragdoll is a modern-day Faustian thriller from Sid Gentle Films, the award-winning producers of Killing Eve. The six-part series stars Henry Lloyd-Hughes (The Irregulars, Killing Eve), Thalissa Teixeira (Too Close, The Musketeers), and Lucy Hale (The Hating Game, Pretty Little Liars).
The darkly-witty crime thriller follows the police investigation into the horrific murders of six people whose bodies were dismembered and then sewn into the shape of one grotesque body — nicknamed the “Ragdoll” — which has been suspended from the ceiling in a block of London flats.
Assigned to the shocking case are DS Nathan Wolf (Lloyd-Hughes), who’s recently been reinstated to the London Met; Nathan’s best friend and boss, DI Emily Baxter (Teixeira); and the unit’s new recruit, DC Lake Edmunds (Hale). The “Ragdoll Killer” taunts the police by sending them a list of his next victims — which has Wolf’s name amongst them. With these victims-to-be to protect, the detectives soon come under intense public scrutiny.
Commissioned by AMC and UKTV’s Alibi, the series is executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris for Sid Gentle Films Ltd, Dan McDermott and Kristin Jones for AMC, Philippa Collie Cousins for Alibi, and Freddy Syborn (Ms Marvel, Bad Education), who also serves as the show’s lead writer. Lizzie Rusbridger (Save Me, Our Girl) is the producer.
Ragdoll, an AMC+ Original series, premieres in the US on Thursday, November 11, exclusively on AMC+. New episodes debut every week through December 16.
