AMC+ released today the official trailer for its new Original series, the Irish drama Kin.
Irish gang drama Kin charts the lives of the Kinsellas, a small but tight-knit crime family embroiled in a war against a powerful drug kingpin.
A boy is killed. And his family embarks on a gangland war with an international cartel — a war that is impossible to win. It’s David versus Goliath.
Outnumbered, out-financed, and out-gunned, the Kinsellas find themselves holed up in their Dublin stronghold while their businesses fail and family members and associates are picked off. But they have something the cartel does not: the unbreakable bonds of blood and family.
Kin is a world where gangsters with nicknames and celebrity status are treated like reality stars; where assassins dress up as women; and where drug dealers keep exotic pets in their garage. It’s a world of drugs and guns, of murder and loyalty, of family and men. And a woman.
The stellar Irish and international cast of Kin includes Charlie Cox (Daredevil) as Michael Kinsella, Aidan Gillan (Game of Thrones) as Frank Kinsella, Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Eamon Cunningham, Clare Dunne (Herself) as Amanda Kinsella, Sam Keeley (Dublin Murders) as Eric “Viking” Kinsella, Emmett J. Scanlan (Peaky Blinders) as Jimmy Kinsella, Maria Doyle Kennedy (Orphan Black) as Bridget “Birdy” Goggins, Hannah Adeogun (Women on the Verge) as Anna Areoye, and newcomer Yasmin Seky as Nikita Murphy.
Shot in Dublin, the eight-part drama is written by showrunner/executive producer Peter McKenna (The Last Kingdom, Red Rock), who co-created the series with executive producer Ciarán Donnelly (Altered Carbon, Vikings).
Kin, an AMC+ Original series, premieres in the US on Thursday, September 9, exclusively on AMC+.
