Get ready to mark your 2021 British TV viewing calendar with The Sister, as Hulu has announced its US premiere date for the mystery-thriller miniseries.
Created and written by two-time Primetime Emmy® nominee Neil Cross (Luther, Hard Sun), adapted from his acclaimed novel Burial, The Sister is a chilling and suspenseful story about an ordinary man trying to keep a dark piece of his past well hidden.
The four-part thriller stars Russell Tovey (Flesh and Blood, Years and Years), Bertie Carvel (Doctor Foster, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell), Amrita Acharia (The Good Karma Hospital, Game of Thrones), Nina Toussaint-White (Bodyguard), Amanda Root (Unforgotten), Paul Bazely (Quiz), and Simone Ashley (Sex Education).
The Sister premieres in the US on Friday, January 22, exclusively on Hulu.
Central to the story is one question: How far would you go to keep a secret?
On one rainy evening, Nathan (Russell Tovey) is surprised by an unwelcome face from the past: Bob (Bertie Carvel), an eccentric old acquaintance he’s known for years.
Nathan has never been able to forget the worst night of his life — a party that led to the sudden, shocking death of a young woman. Only he and Bob know what really happened, and they resolved to keep it that way. But now, years later, Bob appears at Nathan’s door with terrifying news that threatens to tear Nathan’s world apart… Because Nathan has his own secrets now — secrets that could destroy everything he has desperately fought to build for himself and his family.
A production of Euston Films, The Sister is directed by Niall MacCormick (The Victim, The Durrells in Corfu) and produced by Jonathan Curling (Tin Star, Baghdad Central).
The Executive Producers are Euston Films Managing Director Kate Harwood (Dublin Murders, Hard Sun, Baghdad Central), alongside Euston Films’ Noemi Spanos (Dublin Murders), and Neil Cross.
