The 2014 TV Choice Awards brought Brit TV stars out to the London Hilton last night, and guess who won big?
Sherlock won for Best Drama Series over Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey, and Waterloo Road, and Happy Valley bested The Crimson Field, The Musketeers, and The Widower for Best New Drama.
Both series’ stars took home awards, too. Benedict Cumbatch (not in attendance) and Sarah Lancashire continued their award wins by bringing home the Best Actor and Best Actress trophies, respectively.
Cumberbatch’s fellow nominees included Allen Leech (Downton Abbey), David Tennant (The Escape Artist), and Bradley Walsh (Law & Order: UK), while Lancashire’s were Laurie Brett (Waterloo Road), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), and Judy Parfitt (Call The Midwife).
And of the TV Choice Awards categories whose shows screen in the US, Game of Thrones reigned over The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and The Walking Dead for the Best International Show award, and for its 30 years on air, EastEnders was honored with the Golden Award.
Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners!
