BritBox has set the North America premiere date for The Game, a new thriller series starring Jason Watkins and Robson Green.

The Game is a cat-and-mouse thriller in which we don’t know who’s the cat and who’s the mouse. That’s the thing with thrillers, isn’t it? Messing with our minds.
Which is what happens in The Game to police detective Huw Miller (Jason Watkins, McDonald & Dodds, W1A, The Crown). But is repairman Patrick Harbottle (Robson Green, Grantchester, Wire in the Blood, Touching Evil) doing the messing, or is Huw doing it to himself? Hmm…
Huw is still haunted by the one case that he failed to solve: that of the Ripton Stalker, who psychologically tortured his victims before eventually killing them months later, and taunted Huw mercilessly during his investigation. This is the one criminal who got away and Huw cannot live it down. After taking early retirement, he’s still obsessing over the unsolved serial killer case.
Enter Patrick, Huw’s new neighbor. He seems an alright guy and joins Huw and others at the pub one night. But with Patrick’s utterance of “catch you later” as he’s leaving, Huw immediately believes Patrick to be the stalker, as that was the catchphrase the stalker always used. Convinced that he has finally got his man, Huw sets out to take Patrick down.
The Game premieres in North America as a four-episode binge on Thursday, January 8, exclusively on BritBox.
Created and written Tom Grieves (The Palace, The Ghost Squad), the series costars Sunetra Sarker (Professor T), Indy Lewis (Industry), Amber James (Grace), Jenny Rainsford (Silent Witness), Amy Huberman (Cold Feet), and Simon Harrison (Until I Kill You).
