AMC+ released today the official trailer for The Assassin, a new action-thriller series headed to the US next month. Check it out.

Created, written, and executive produced by the multi-award-winning team of brothers Harry and Jack Williams (Fleabag, The Tourist, The Missing), The Assassin stars Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard, Miss Austen) and Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel).
The story opens on an idyllic and beautifully remote Greek island, where retired assassin Julie (Hawes) lives a solitary life. A hermit for the last ten years to escape her dark past, her humble existence is interrupted with the arrival of her son, Edward (Highmore), who’s come armed with questions about new information regarding his paternity. He tries to find the right time to speak to her, but she manages to avoid the conversation every time.
When the moment finally presents itself for Edward to confront his mum, things take a deadly turn, as Julie’s dangerous past finally catches up with her and the two are forced to flee the island and go on the run together, testing their dysfunctional relationship to its limits.
The Assassin premieres in the US on Thursday, November 20, exclusively on AMC+. New episodes will drop weekly through December 25.
The series features a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Shalom Brune-Franklin (Baby Reindeer), David Dencik (The Ipcress File), Gerald Kyd (The Split), Devon Terrell (Good Cop/Bad Cop), Gina Gershon (Bound), Alan Dale (Dynasty), Richard Dormer (Gangs of London), and Jack Davenport (“Pirates of the Caribbean” films).
A production of Two Brothers Pictures (an All3Media company) for Prime Video UK, in association with All3Media International, ZDF, and Stan, The Assassin is directed by Lisa Mulcahy (The Tourist) and Daniel Nettheim (Line of Duty), and written by Hamish Wright (Significant Other), Krissie Ducker (Sweetpea), and Selina Lim (Sex Education). The executive producers are Sarah Hammond, Alex Mercer, Daisy Mount, Freddie Highmore, Keeley Hawes, and Hamish Wright.
