NATIONAL PREMIERES
Lynley (UK)
Based on the internationally best-selling “Inspector Lynley” novels by Elizabeth George, this brand-new reboot, which comes twenty-five years after The Inspector Lynley Mysteries TV series first aired, stars Leo Suter (Vikings: Valhalla, Sanditon, Victoria) as DI Tommy Lynley and Sofia Barclay (Ted Lasso, We Are Lady Parts, Defending the Guilty) as DS Barbara Havers — the beloved detective duo at the heart of the whodunits (played in the original series by Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small).
In this four-episode mystery-crime drama series, Tommy Lynley is a brilliant police detective but an outsider in the force, simply by virtue of his aristocratic upbringing. (He’s the 8th Earl of Asherton.) Paired with him is Barbara Havers, a sergeant with a maverick attitude and a working-class background. With seemingly nothing in common and against all odds, the mismatched duo of Lynley and Havers — with his brain and her spirit, his knowledge and her instincts — become a formidable crime-solving team, bonded by their desire to see justice done. It is through working side by side that they both find where they truly belong.
Daniel Mays (Magpie Murders, Line of Duty) costars in the series as DCI Brian Nies, the astute, suspicious senior detective of the Three Counties Major Incident Team. Nies’s aversion to Lynley is partly born of his own insecurities about class and partly because he knows he’s no longer the smartest person in the room. The ensemble cast also includes Niamh Walsh (The English Game), Michael Workeye (My Lady Jane), and Joshua Sher (Vera).
Lynley, a BritBox Original, premieres in the US and Canada on Thursday, September 4, exclusively on BritBox. New episodes will drop weekly through September 25.

The investigation leads Jeanette to eminent psychotherapist Dr. Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly, The Long Shadow, Protection), who provides her with vital information about a suspect.
