Apple TV+ announced today the premiere date for Season 5 of its hit spy thriller series, Slow Horses, starring Gary Oldman.

If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of watching this Emmy® and BAFTA Award-winning series, it is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known unaffectionately as Slough House. It stars Oscar® winner Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes, as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.
Adapted from London Rules (#ad), the fifth novel in Mick Herron’s “Slough House” book series, Season 5 finds everyone suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung, Doctor Who, Waterloo Road) has a glamorous new girlfriend. When a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected.
Slow Horses: Season 5, an Apple TV+ Original Series, premieres globally with the first two episodes on Wednesday, September 24, exclusively on Apple TV+. One new episode will drop each week through October 22.
The ensemble cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas (The English Patient, Four Weddings and a Funeral), Jack Lowden (The Gold, Small Axe), Saskia Reeves (Roadkill, Belgravia), Rosalind Eleazar (Missing You, Deep Water), Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Peaky Blinders, Detectorists), Ruth Bradley (Guilt, Humans), James Callis (Blood & Treasure, 12 Monkeys), Tom Brooke (Preacher, Sherlock), and Jonathan Pryce (The Crown, Game of Thrones). Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso) guest stars in Season 5.
The series is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films and adapted for television by Will Smith. The executive producers are Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Will Smith, and Graham Yost. Saul Metzstein (Brassic) returns to direct Season 5.
