Prime Video has set the global premiere date for The Sticky, a new Canadian dark comedy series starring three-time Emmy® winner Margo Martindale.
The Sticky is inspired by the true story dubbed the “Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist.” The real-life heist saw more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec’s national reserves in 2012, making international headlines.
The half-hour comedy series stars Margo Martindale (The Americans, Sneaky Pete, American Crime Story), along with Emmy® nominee Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley, Episodes) and Guillaume Cyr (Outbreak, 19-2). Oscar® and Emmy® winner Jamie Lee Curtis (The Bear) guest stars.
Combining moments of culture-clash hilarity, edge-of-your-seat excitement, and heartbreaking drama, the series follows Ruth Landry (Martindale), a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when the bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves. She teams up with a hot-tempered Bostonian mobster (Diamantopoulos) and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard (Cyr) to carry out a multi-million dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus.
The Sticky, an Amazon Original Series, premieres globally on Friday, December 6, exclusively on Prime Video.
