Created, written, and executive produced by Lisa McGee (Derry Girls, Raw), How to Get to Heaven from Belfast stars Roísín Gallagher (The Dry, The Lovers), Sinéad Keenan (Little Boy Blue, Unforgotten), and Caoilfhionn Dunne (A Thousand Blows, Industry) in the lead roles.

The story follows three friends — clever, chaotic TV writer Saoirse (Roísín Gallagher), glamorous, stressed-out, mother-of-three Robyn (Sinéad Keenan), and dependable, inhibited carer Dara (Caoilfhionn Dunne) — who’ve been a tight-knit group since school. Now in their late 30s, but still as close as ever, they are about to embark on the most thrilling adventure of their lives.

When an email arrives, telling them about the death of Greta, the estranged fourth member of their childhood gang, a series of eerie events at her wake set the trio on a dark, dangerous, and hilarious odyssey through Ireland and beyond, as each tries to piece together the truth of the past.

Production has started in Northern Ireland, with Oscar® nominee Michael Lennox (Boogaloo and Graham, Derry Girls) directing. Brian J. Falconer is the producer, and Caroline Leddy, Michael Lennox, Liz Lewin, Lisa McGee, and Jimmy Mulville the Executive Producers.

How to Get to Heaven from Belfast is an eight-episode, hour-long project of Hat Trick Productions (Derry Girls, Outnumbered, Spy).

A production date has not been set yet. Stay tuned for updates.
