Inspired by the best-selling novel My Lady Jane, the first title in the “Lady Janies” book series, the TV series My Lady Jane is a radical retelling of English royal history.

In actual history, Lady Jane Grey was a tragic figure. Following the death of young King Edward VI, she acceded to the throne and was Queen of England before being beheaded nine days later.

Not so in My Lady Jane! Set in an alt-fantasy Tudor world, this epic tale of true love and high adventure sees King Henry VIII’s son, Edward, living instead of dying, and the brilliant and headstrong Jane unexpectedly crowned queen overnight. As such, she also finds herself the target of nefarious villains coming for the crown (as well as her head!). But here the damsel in distress saves herself, along with her true love, and then the Kingdom!

My Lady Jane, an Amazon Original, premieres globally on Thursday, June 27, exclusively on Prime Video.
