Hulu has set the US premiere date for the new Scottish comedy series Dinosaur.
Aww, judging by the trailer, Dinosaur looks to be a sweet show.
Dinosaur, a brand-new coming-of-age comedy series from Two Brothers Pictures (Fleabag, The Tourist, The Missing), explores the moments of change we experience in various relationships in our lives, including sisterhood, friendship, and romance.
Set (and filmed) in Glasgow, the six-episode series follows Nina (Ashley Storrie, Romance & Adventure), a thirty-something autistic woman, who adores her life living with her sister and best friend, Evie (Kat Ronney, McDonald & Dodds, The Royal Mob). However, when Evie rushes into an engagement after only six weeks and makes Nina her maid of honor, Nina is floored. Forced to reconcile with her sister’s impulsive decision, Nina grapples with what this new challenge means.
Nina’s relationship with her sister isn’t the only change that she’s navigating, as she explores new possibilities in her paleontology career, as well as a potential new relationship in her own life with kindhearted Lee (Lorn Macdonald, Shetland, The Lazarus Project), who helps Nina to see these new challenges in a more positive light. As their relationship blossoms, Nina ends up helping Lee just as much as he helps her.
Dinosaur premieres in the US on Friday, April 5, exclusively on Hulu. It also debuts in the UK on BBC Scotland and BBC Three next month (date tba).
Costars include David Carlyle (It’s A Sin) as Bo and Danny Ashok (C.B. Strike) as Ranesh. It was commissioned by Jon Petrie, Director of BBC Comedy, and Louise Thornton, Head of Commissioning for BBC Scotland.
