Disney+ has announced the global premiere date for Renegade Nell, a new action-adventure fantasy series from BAFTA winner Sally Wainwright.
Created and written by BAFTA Awards winner Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax, Gentleman Jack), Renegade Nell follows the story of Nell (Louisa Harland, Derry Girls, Finding Joy), a quick-witted and courageous young woman who finds herself framed for murder and unexpectedly becomes the most notorious outlaw in 18th-century England. But when a magical spirit called Billy Blind (Nick Mohammed, Ted Lasso, Intelligence) appears, Nell realizes her destiny is bigger than she ever imagined.
Renegade Nell, a Disney+ UK Original series, premieres globally as an eight-episode binge on Friday, March 29, exclusively on Disney+.
The cast includes: Frank Dillane (Fear the Walking Dead) as Nell’s fickle friend and sometime adversary Charles Devereux, a charming rogue with a dangerous, villainous alter ego; Alice Kremelberg (The Sinner) as Sofia Wilmot, a young widow who wants power and independence at any cost; Ényì Okoronkwo (The Lazarus Project) as Rasselas, a spirited stable boy who joins Nell and her sisters on the run in his own bid for freedom; Jake Dunn (Half Bad) as Thomas Blancheford, Sofia’s feckless, bullying brother; newcomers Bo Bragason and Florence Keen as Nell’s younger sisters, Roxy and George; Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck) as Lady Eularia Moggerhanger, an eccentric newspaper magnate; Adrian Lester (Riviera) as the Earl of Poynton, a master political schemer and manipulator who joins forces with Sofia Wilmot against Nell; Pip Torrens (The Crown) as Lord Blancheford, the father of Sofia and Thomas; and Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty) as Sam, Nell’s kindhearted father.
