Following the success of the new thriller Fool Me Once, best-selling author Harlan Coben‘s latest Netflix series, which amassed 61 million views globally in the first two weeks of its January 1 launch and reached the Top 10 in 91 countries (source: Netflix Top 10), Netflix has announced that it has greenlit the adaptations of two more of Coben’s novels: Missing You and Run Away.

Missing You

Eleven years ago, Detective Kat Donovan’s fiancé Josh, the love of her life, disappeared, and she hasn’t heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.

Missing you will be written by Victoria Asare-Archer (Stay Close, Death in Paradise), directed by Sean Spencer (The Lazarus Project, Hollyoaks) with Second Director Isher Sahota (Grace, Father Brown), produced by Guy Hescott (Whitstable Pearl, Agatha Raisin) and executive produced by Harlan Coben, Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, Victoria Asare-Archer, and Danny Brocklehurst.

Run Away

Simon had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter, Paige, ran away and everything fell apart. So now, when he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home. But it turns out she’s not alone, and an argument escalates into shocking violence that will shatter Simon’s life all over again. His search for his daughter will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.

Run Away will be written by BAFTA nominee Danny Brocklehurst (Fool Me Once, Stay Close, The Stranger) and executive produced by Harlan Coben, Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, and Danny Brocklehurst.

Missing You and Run Away will be the ninth and tenth on-screen adaptations to be produced through Coben’s ongoing creative partnership with Netflix, which include thrillers Safe (UK), The Woods (Poland), The Stranger (UK), The Innocent (Spain), Gone for Good (France), Stay Close (UK), Hold Tight (Poland), and Fool Me Once (UK). Coben continues his work with local screenwriters from around the world to bring his novels to life on screen, to date across four languages.

Both Missing You and Run Away will be produced by Quay Street Productions (part of ITV Studios), with Coben serving as executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions.

Filming for Missing You will commence in the UK in spring 2024.

Stay tuned for updates.
