Set in a dystopian future London, The Kitchen follows an unlikely pair as they forge a relationship in a system that is stacked against them.

Izi (Kano, Top Boy) lives in The Kitchen, the only housing estate remaining in London and the last place left for the city’s most disadvantaged residents. He’s here by necessity and is close to escaping, while other residents refuse to move out of the place they call home.

Meanwhile, young Benji (Jedaiah Bannerman), a 12-year-old boy who’s lost his mother, is searching for a family. When he enters Izi’s life, Izi faces some hard decisions amid rising injustice and encroaching gentrification.

Written by ®Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya (Judas and the Black Messiah, Get Out) and BAFTA nominee Joe Murtagh (Calm with Horses, The Woman in the Wall), and directed by Kaluuya and Sundance Film Festival winner Kibwe Tavares (Robots of Brixton, Noughts + Crosses), The Kitchen, a Netflix Film, premieres globally on Friday, January 19, 2024, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
