Paramount+ has announced the US and global premiere dates for Season 2 of its Original Canadian medical drama series SkyMed. Check out the trailer.
High-stakes medical drama series SkyMed follows the triumphs and tribulations of young medics and pilots who fly air ambulances across Northern Canada, with stories that weave together intense personal journeys with jaw-dropping medical rescues in the most remote conditions.
Following on from the events in Season 1, the new season thrusts the diverse group of medical responders into intense emergencies as they continue to rely on each other for survival 20,000 feet in the air, as SkyMed expands its medevac service into new territory, and as new flight crew members arrive.
SkyMed: Season 2, a Paramount+ Original, premieres in the US with all nine episodes for binge viewing on Thursday, January 11, 2024, exclusively on Paramount+, and on Friday, January 12, in all Paramount+ international markets outside of Canada.
Returning for Season 2 are series regulars Natasha Calis (Nurses), Morgan Holmstrom (Day of the Dead), Praneet Akilla (Nancy Drew), “Ace” Aason Nadjiwon (Honey Girls), Mercedes Morris (Y: The Last Man), Thomas Elms (The Order), and Kheon Clarke (Riverdale).
Joining the cast are new series regulars Sydney Kuhne (Ginny & Georgia), Ryan Ali (Aquaslash), and Nadine Whiteman-Roden (Faith Heist). Reprising their recurring roles are Braeden Clarke (Outlander), Emilia McCarthy (Zombies), and Aaron Ashmore (Ginny & Georgia).
Produced by Piazza Entertainment in association with CBC and CBS Studios, the series is created by Julie Puckrin (Transplant, Killjoys) and inspired by her sister and brother-in-law, who met flying air ambulances. Puckrin also serves as executive producer, along with Vanessa Piazza and Gillian Hormel. From Manitoba, Rhonda Baker and Carrie Wilkins serve as producers.
