Apple TV+ has released the trailer for Criminal Record, the new crime thriller series starring Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo.
From BAFTA Award nominee Paul Rutman (Vera, Indian Summers) comes Criminal Record, a new eight-episode, one-hour crime thriller starring Academy Award® winner Peter Capaldi (The Devil’s Hour, Doctor Who, The Thick of It) and Critics Choice Award nominee Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife, The Good Fight, The Beast Must Die) as detectives in a tug of war over a historic murder conviction.
Filmed on location in the UK’s capital, the powerful, character-driven thriller, set in the heart of contemporary London, opens with an anonymous phone call to the police, which soon draws two brilliant detectives into a confrontation over an old murder case — Detective Sergeant June Lenker (Cush Jumbo), a young woman in the early stages of her career, and Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty (Peter Capaldi), a veteran cop and well-connected man determined to protect his legacy.
Criminal Record premieres globally with the first two episodes on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, exclusively on Apple TV+. New episodes will be released singly each Wednesday through February 21.
Costars in the series include Charlie Creed-Miles (Giri/Haji, Peaky Blinders), Dionne Brown (The Walk-In), Shaun Dooley (Gentleman Jack, Jamestown), Stephen Campbell Moore (War of the Worlds, The One), Zoë Wanamaker (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, My Week with Marilyn), Rasaq Kukoyi (Andor, You Don’t Know Me), Maisie Ayres (Silent Witness), Aysha Kala (The Undeclared War, Indian Summers), Ian Bonar (Vera, I May Destroy You), Chizzy Akudolu (The Woman in the Wall, Holby City), Cathy Tyson (Mona Lisa, Whitstable Pearl), and Tom Moutchi (Mood, Temple).
Produced for Apple TV+ by Tod Productions and STV Studios, the series is directed by BAFTA Award winner Jim Loach (Save Me Too, The Tower). BAFTA Scotland Award winner Elaine Collins (Shetland, Vera) executive produces alongside Rutman, Capaldi, and Jumbo.
