Prime Video has released first-look images for its new Original thriller series The Power starring Toni Collette and John Leguizamo.
The highly-anticipated, emotionally-driven, global thriller series The Power is based on British author Naomi Alderman’s best-selling and award-winning novel The Power, hailed as “our era’s The Handmaid’s Tale” by The Washington Post.
The Power is our world, but for one twist of nature: Suddenly, and without warning, teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people at will — a power that evolves from a tingle in teenagers’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.
Oscar® nominee and Primetime Emmy® winner Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense, United States of Tara) leads the ensemble cast, playing Seattle mayor Margot Cleary-Lopez. Costarring alongside her are Primetime Emmy® winner John Leguizamo (When They See Us) as Rob Lopez, Auli’i Cravalho (Darby and the Dead) as Jos Cleary-Lopez, Toheeb Jimoh (Ted Lasso) as Tunde Ojo, Primetime Emmy® nominee Josh Charles (The Good Wife) as Daniel Dandon, multi-award winner Eddie Marsan (Deceit) as Bernie Monke, Ria Zmitrowicz (Mr. Selfridge) as Roxy Monke, Zrinka Cvitešić (London Spy) as Tatiana Moskalev, and Halle Bush as Allie Montgomery, amongst others.
A production of Amazon Studios (Three Pines) and Sister Pictures (Chernobyl), The Power is showrun by Raelle Tucker (True Blood).
UPDATED: The Power will premiere globally on Friday, March 31, exclusively on Prime Video. (You can add it to your watchlist now.)
