There’s a lot of great British TV content already on free AVOD streaming service Crackle, and even more is coming, including exclusives!
Crackle, the free US-based advertising-supported video-on-demand streaming service, has been quietly adding British TV content to its offerings over the past few years — although it did whoop it up for the Crackle Original crime comedy-drama series Snatch, a spinoff the hit Guy Ritchie film of the same name, which premiered on the streamer back in March 2017.
Crackle now has dozens of British TV shows available to stream for free — with even more headed to the streamer in the coming months, including titles from the BBC library each month — making Crackle a go-to destination for stateside fans of television content from the UK.
Amongst Crackle’s cracking British TV titles are some that I have enjoyed immensely and highly recommend, including mystery-crime drama Collision, the utterly brilliant comedy Detectorists, anything presented by the hilarious and talented motorcycle-riding chefs The Hairy Bikers, crime thriller Happy Valley, period mystery-crime drama Ripper Street, megahit Sherlock, and mystery-thriller What Remains. (Yes, I am partial to whodunits.)
July 2022 will see several BBC titles arriving on Crackle, as well as a new episode of A Life in Ten Pictures, a Crackle AVOD Exclusive Series. The docuseries examines ten photographs taken from the lives of some of the world’s most beloved icons, and prompts questions ranging from “What do these images reveal?” to “What secrets do they hide?” Already available for streaming on Crackle is the episode about Queen front man Freddie Mercury, and next up is the one about hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur.
