Apple released today the official trailer for The Essex Serpent, a new period drama starring Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston. Check it out.
Three-time Emmy® Awards winner Claire Danes (Homeland, My So-Called Life) and Golden Globes winner Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager, Loki) lead the cast of The Essex Serpent, the new period drama adapted from Sarah Perry’s best-selling novel The Essex Serpent, which won the British Book Awards for Book of the Year in 2016.
The six-episode series follows Cora Seaborne (Claire Danes), a widow who moves from London to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. Here she forms a surprising bond of science and skepticism with Will Ransome (Tom Hiddleston), the local pastor, but when tragedy strikes, community members accuse her of attracting the creature.
The Essex Serpent, an Apple TV+ Original, premieres Friday, May 13, exclusively on Apple TV+.
The series costars Hayley Squires (Adult Material), Frank Dillane (Fear the Walking Dead), Clémence Poésy (The Tunnel), Dixie Egerickx (The Secret Garden), and Michael Jibson (Quiz), amongst others.
