AMC+ has set the US premiere date for its latest Original series, the Irish crime drama Kin.
Kin charts the lives of a Dublin family embroiled in a gangland war, and speaks to the enduring unbreakable bonds of blood and family.
A boy is killed. And his family embarks on a gangland war with an international cartel — a war that is impossible to win. It’s David versus Goliath.
Outnumbered, out-financed, and out-gunned, the Kinsellas find themselves holed up in their Dublin stronghold while their businesses fail and family members and associates are picked off. But they have something the cartel does not: the unbreakable bonds of blood and family.
Kin is a world where gangsters with nicknames and celebrity status are treated like reality stars; where assassins dress up as women; and where drug dealers keep exotic pets in their garage. It’s a world of drugs and guns, of murder and loyalty, of family and men. And a woman.
The stellar Irish cast of the eight-part crime drama includes Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Clare Dunne (Herself), Aidan Gillan (Game of Thrones), Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander), Sam Keeley (The Cured), Emmet J. Scanlan (Peaky Blinders), and newcomer Yasmin Seky.
Filmed on location in Dublin, the series is a production of BRON Studios and Headline Pictures, in association with RTÉ, Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group), and Creative Wealth Media, with support from Screen Ireland and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI). Peter McKenna (The Last Kingdom, Red Rock) is the series showrunner/executive producer, writer and co-creator, and Ciarán Donnelly (Altered Carbon, Vikings) is co-creator.
Kin, an AMC+ Original series, premieres in the US on Thursday, September 9, exclusively on AMC+.
