Today’s announcement comes on the heels of the US launch of Season 1 of Max Original series Starstruck on HBO Max, where all six episodes are now available for streaming.

Starstruck follows Jessie (Matafeo), a millennial living in East London juggling two dead end jobs and navigating the complications of becoming romantically involved with famous film star Tom (Nikesh Patel, Indian Summers), and then follows the couple as they realize they can’t keep away from each other.

Said Rose Matafeo:

“I’m thrilled that Starstruck will be returning for a second series in the US on HBO Max. I hope American audiences like my accent as much as I like speaking in it.”

The Season 2 ensemble cast also includes Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) and Russell Tovey (Years and Years).

Written by Rose Matafeo (Horndog) and co-writers Alice Snedden (Golden Boy) and Nic Sampson (The Brokenwood Mysteries), Starstruck is produced by Avalon (Breeders, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver). The executive producers are Rose Matafeo, Jon Thoday, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, and Toby Welch, with Claire McCarthy as series producer.
