Prime Video announced today the premiere date for Harlan Coben’s Lazarus, a new mystery thriller series starring Sam Claflin and Bill Nighy.

Unlike most of the Harlan Coben series we’ve been watching over the past decade, like Safe and Fool Me Once, Lazarus isn’t an adaptation of one of his novels. Rather, this series is based on an original story idea, written by the New York Times best-selling author and BAFTA winner Danny Brocklehurst (The Stranger, Stay Close).
What Harlan Coben’s Lazarus has in common with the adaptations is a terrific cast, led by Sam Claflin (Peaky Blinders, “The Hunger Games” films) and Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Living), and costarring Alexandra Roach (No Offence), David Fynn (The Pembrokeshire Murders), Karla Crome (Toxic Town), and Kate Ashfield (Sanditon).
The story follows Joel Lazarus (Claflin), who returns home after his father, Dr. Jonathan Lazarus (Nighy), dies by suicide. Joel begins to have disturbing experiences that can’t be explained, and he quickly becomes entangled in a series of cold-case murders as he grapples with the mystery of his father’s death and his sister’s murder twenty-five years ago.
Harlan Coben’s Lazarus, an Amazon Original Series, premieres globally as a six-episode binge on Wednesday, October 22, exclusively on Prime Video.
A production of Amazon MGM Studios and Quay Street Productions in association with Final Twist Productions, the series is executive produced by Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst, alongside Nicola Shindler (Happy Valley, It’s A Sin) and Richard Fee (Fool Me Once, The Stranger) for Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios, and Sam Claflin. Wayne Che Yip (Rings of Power, Utopia) will direct Episodes 1 and 2 and will also serve as executive producer. Matt Strevens (Doctor Who, Capital) will produce.
