Starz has set the US premiere date for The Couple Next Door, a steamy psychological thriller. Check out the trailer.
If you’ve ever watched and enjoyed the Dutch TV series The Neighbors (which, sadly, is no longer available in the US), then The Couple Next Door is for you. And others, too, of course.
The Couple Next Door is a deliciously dark, addictive, six-part psychological thriller that looks at how we never know what goes on behind closed doors. It stars Sam Heughan (Outlander, Suspect), Eleanor Tomlinson (The Outlaws, Poldark), Jessica De Gouw (The Secrets She Keeps, Pennyworth), and Alfred Enoch (Foundation, How to Get Away with Murder).
As the saying goes, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. And how apt it is for some folks in one particular neighborhood — a seemingly idyllic locale where danger lurks behind twitching curtains and secret fantasies and desires don’t stay hidden for long.
When Evie (Tomlinson) and Pete (Enoch) move into the upscale neighborhood with the dream of starting a family, they soon find friendship in the form of the couple next door, alpha traffic cop Danny (Heughan) and his wife, glamorous yoga instructor Becka (De Gouw). As time goes on, the two couples get increasingly close to each other and, on one fateful night, become sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever.
The Couple Next Door premieres in the US on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 9pm ET/PT, on linear Starz, following the Season 7 finale of Outlander, with streaming available on the Starz app and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms. New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays through the season finale on February 21 on all Starz platforms.
Costars include High Dennis (Outnumbered), Janine Duvitski (Waiting for God), Joel Morris (Gentleman Jack), and Kate Robbins (Unforgotten), amongst others.
Based on the novel by Danish author Saskia Noort, and adapted from the Dutch TV series The Neighbors, The Couple Next Door, which aired on Channel 4 in the UK, is directed by Dries Vos (Suspect, Professor T) and written by David Allison (Marcella, Bedlam).
A production of Eagle Eye Drama, the series is executive produced by Jo McGrath, Walter Iuzzolino, Alison Kee, and Dries Vos, with Jennifer Burnet producing. The series is distributed worldwide by Beta Film.
